The Miami Dade Sharks scored three second-half goals to defeat Hagerstown Community College 3–0, on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Tessa Abreu broke through in the 56' off a feed from Kyara Ormazabal. Betzael Contreras doubled the lead with an unassisted strike in the 71', and Julia Gurgel put it away in the 86' to cap the performance.
The Sharks controlled the run of play, outshooting the Hawks 23–7 with a 14–3 edge in shots on goal and an 8–4 margin in corners. Ashley Fonseca made three saves to secure the clean sheet.
Ormazabal led all players with six shots and the key assist, while the back line limited Hagerstown to three looks on frame. A chippy late stretch produced multiple cautions and two reds, but MDC kept its composure to close it out.
Miami Dade returns to action next week as they finish their regular season out against St. Thomas University.
