Sharks Pull Away in Second Half To Defeat Palm Beach State 88-64
Lake Worth, FL - Miami Dade delivered a complete performance Wednesday night, defeating Palm Beach State 88-64.
The Sharks set the tone early, building a 30-17 advantage in the opening quarter. After Palm Beach trimmed the margin to eight at halftime, Miami Dade responded with a 23-point third quarter and held the Panthers to just nine points in the fourth to secure the 24-point win.
Jazmyne Bynum led all scorers with 37 points, shooting 16-of-31 from the field while adding three steals and four rebounds. She consistently attacked off the dribble and finished through contact, going 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
Constanza Aravena added 13 points and four assists, knocking down three three-pointers. Azjannie Culberth recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Meredith Venner controlled the paint with 13 rebounds and four assists.
Saige McCloud contributed eight points and six rebounds, and Diully DaSilva added 10 boards off the bench to help Miami Dade dominate the glass, 55-44.
The Sharks shot 44 percent from the field and forced 20 Palm Beach turnovers, converting defensive pressure into transition opportunities. Miami Dade also limited the Panthers to 38.2 percent shooting and just five made three-pointers.
Palm Beach State was led by Janiah Suprius with 15 points.
The Sharks now turn their heads to Daytona State whom they'll face on Saturday afternoon at 2 PM.
