Sharks Pull Away Late to Defeat Santa Fe, 76–64
The Miami Dade Sharks put together a strong second-half performance to secure a 76–64 win over Santa Fe College on Saturday, pulling away late after a tightly contested opening half.
Santa Fe jumped out to an early advantage, taking a 22–13 lead after the first quarter and holding a slim edge at halftime. Miami Dade stayed composed, tightened up defensively, and began to swing momentum coming out of the break. The Sharks outscored the Saints 22–17 in the third quarter before delivering their best stretch of the game in the final period.
Miami Dade dominated the fourth quarter, pouring in 28 points while limiting Santa Fe to just 13. The Sharks controlled the glass, pushed the tempo, and capitalized on key possessions to turn a close game into a double-digit victory.
Meredith Venner led the way with a standout performance, finishing with 20 points and 14 rebounds to record a double-double. Venner was efficient on the offensive end and anchored Miami Dade in the paint on both sides of the floor.
Jazmyne Bynum added 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists, consistently creating opportunities and applying pressure throughout the game. Azjannie Culberth provided a major spark in limited minutes, scoring 14 points while knocking down three shots from beyond the arc.
Diully DaSilva chipped in nine points off the bench, while Constanza Aravena added eight points and two assists as Miami Dade's depth played a key role in the second-half surge. Riana Callihan contributed on the glass with 12 rebounds and added three steals defensively.
Miami Dade finished the game shooting 46 percent from the field and outrebounded Santa Fe 39–0, using its physicality and late-game execution to close out the win.
The victory improves the Sharks to 12–6 overall and 6–2 in conference play as they continue to build momentum heading deeper into the schedule.
