Bynum Drops 33 in Win Against the Saints
Miami Dade put together a complete four-quarter performance on Saturday afternoon, pulling away in the second half to secure an 87–67 victory over Santa Fe College.
The Sharks edged ahead early and never relinquished control, taking an 18–17 lead after the first quarter before steadily building separation. Miami Dade outscored Santa Fe 19–13 in the second to take a 37–30 advantage into halftime, then came out of the locker room with purpose. A strong third quarter pushed the margin to double digits, and a 29-point fourth sealed the result.
Jazmyne Bynum led all scorers with a dominant night, pouring in 33 points on 13-of-20 shooting while adding seven assists. Meredith Venner was just as impactful inside, recording a massive double-double with 32 points and 18 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends and finishing second-chance opportunities throughout the game.
Riana Callihan anchored the Sharks defensively with 14 rebounds to go along with seven points, while Saige McCloud and Constanza Aravena contributed on both sides of the floor as Miami Dade consistently forced turnovers and turned them into points. The Sharks finished with a 53–43 rebounding advantage and 22 assists on 35 made field goals, highlighting their balanced, team-oriented attack.
Santa Fe was led by Zion McRae, who scored 22 points, and Lorianys Castanon Cruz, who added 14, but Miami Dade's depth proved too much down the stretch.
With the win, the Sharks closed out the 2025 calendar year on a high note, delivering a composed, physical performance in their final game before the break. Miami Dade will now take time to reset and recover over the holiday stretch before returning to the floor in early January, when conference play resumes and the Sharks turn their focus to the heart of the league schedule.
