Sharks Dominate Pasco-Hernando
The Sharks put together a complete performance on both ends of the floor to roll past Pasco-Hernando State College, 90-58, on Saturday night.
The Sharks set the tone early, building a 39-24 halftime lead behind efficient shooting and relentless defensive pressure. Miami Dade shared the ball well and knocked down shots from the perimeter, while limiting Pasco-Hernando's clean looks and forcing tough possessions throughout the opening 20 minutes.
The second half only widened the gap. Miami Dade poured in 51 points after the break, continuing to push the pace and capitalize in transition. The Sharks shot over 55 percent from the field and an impressive 50 percent from three-point range, turning steady offense into a commanding double-digit cushion that never wavered.
Leeroy Nijean led the way with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting, adding five rebounds and a block, while Anthony Breland and Randy Smith each scored 14 points. Smith also filled the stat sheet with six steals and four assists, setting the tone defensively. Jacopo Van Der Knapp provided a big spark off the bench, knocking down three triples on his way to 13 points, and David Verstraeten anchored the interior with 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks.
Miami Dade finished with 18 assists on 35 made field goals and held Pasco-Hernando to just 40.7 percent shooting, turning defense into offense all night long. The dominant win capped a balanced effort that saw multiple Sharks contribute across the board.
