Sharks Dominate Prestige Worldwide, 102–56
The Miami Dade College Sharks delivered a commanding performance on both ends of the floor Wednesday afternoon, overwhelming Prestige Worldwide Prep in a 102–56 rout to notch another convincing home victory.
From the opening tip, the Sharks controlled the tempo and never looked back. Miami Dade raced to an early 19–2 advantage behind relentless defense and transition playmaking, holding Prestige without a field goal for the first four minutes. Amari Davis opened the scoring spree with back-to-back layups and a tip-in, while Anthony Breland's dunk and jumper pushed the margin into double digits before the first media timeout. The Sharks poured in 54 first-half points and led 54–21 at the break.
Freshman forward Joachim Kouassi was nearly unstoppable, leading Miami Dade with 25 points, seven rebounds, and four steals on 10-of-15 shooting. Anthony Breland added 16 points and five assists, while Amari Davis contributed an efficient 14 points, six boards, and a block. Off the bench, Leeroy Nijean and Ernesto Rodriguez each chipped in 10 and eight points respectively, and the Sharks' reserves combined for 37 points in total.
Miami Dade's defense suffocated Prestige Worldwide throughout the contest, forcing 42 turnovers that converted into easy transition baskets. The Sharks' full-court pressure and rebounding dominance produced a 27–6 edge in assists and 26 team steals, as every player who entered the game contributed to the scoring column.
By the second half, head coach Jorge Fernandez had the entire rotation firing in rhythm. The Sharks extended their lead past 40 midway through the period, highlighted by a thunderous dunk from Davis and a corner three by Kouassi that sealed the blowout. Miami Dade out-rebounded Prestige 41–43 and shot 48% from the field despite a cold 2-for-28 mark from three-point range.
The win moves Miami Dade to 2–0 on the season as the Sharks continue their non-conference slate. They'll look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they prepare to face Palm Beach State.
