Sharks Season Comes to a Close
The Miami Dade Sharks saw their season come to a close with a 64-50 loss to Pensacola State College in a tough road matchup. The Sharks struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting just 32.7% from the field and 27.3% from three-point range.
Despite a competitive start, Miami Dade found themselves trailing 31-20 at halftime. The Pirates controlled the boards, outrebounding the Sharks 47-33, which proved to be a key factor in the game.
Faheim Saintleger Meran led Miami Dade with 13 points, while Randy Smith added 12 points and two steals. Hassan Belkhaddar contributed 11 points and eight rebounds, but the Sharks struggled to convert at the free-throw line, going just 8-for-16.
Pensacola State was led by Amarion Savage and Isaiah Sutherland, who each scored 16 points. Sutherland was particularly effective from beyond the arc, knocking down four three-pointers. The Pirates also shared the ball well, finishing with 17 assists compared to Miami Dade's 11.
With the loss, Miami Dade's season comes to an end, wrapping up the year with a final record of 19-13. With 8 sophomores graduating, Coach Fernandez and the rest of his staff will look to get back to the State Tournament next year with a brand new roster next year.
