Sharks Dominate Indian River for 76-61 Victory
The Miami Dade Sharks secured a decisive 76-61 victory over Indian River, fueled by a strong first half and a balanced team performance.
The Sharks came out aggressive, outscoring Indian River 40-27 in the first half, setting the tone for the game. Despite a more competitive second half, Miami Dade maintained control, outscoring their opponents 36-34 to close out the win.
Hassan Belkhaddar led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds, shooting an efficient 7-for-13 from the field. Jamaal Morris contributed across the board with 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Randy Smith added 12 points, including two three-pointers. Jordan Cooke provided a spark off the bench, scoring 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including three makes from beyond the arc.
Miami Dade's defense was key, forcing 15 turnovers and limiting Indian River to just 29.4% from three-point range. The Sharks also held a slight rebounding advantage, 41-36.
For Indian River, Jeremiah Whitmore was a bright spot, leading all scorers with 25 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting. Emmanuel Akot added 11 points, while Marius Canery contributed eight points and 10 rebounds.
With this win, Miami Dade moves to 16-8 on the year and 7-3 in conference play.
