MDC Held in Check as Eastern Florida Takes Game 2
Melbourne, FL - Eastern Florida State responded in Game 2 of the doubleheader, limiting Miami Dade to just two hits in an 8–0 run-rule decision.
The Titans struck early, plating two runs in the first behind an RBI double from Annalyn Duncan and a sacrifice fly from Jaelynne Whipple to take immediate control. They continued to build separation in the third, using a two-run triple from Isabel Otero followed by an RBI single from Brooklyn Scott to extend the lead to 5–0.
Eastern Florida added three more in the fourth, capitalizing on productive outs and timely contact to put the game out of reach. Scott delivered her second RBI hit of the afternoon in the frame, while Otero added another run on a sacrifice fly to cap her three-RBI performance.
Miami Dade struggled to generate offense throughout, managing just two hits on the day, one each from Makayla Deleon and Maria Julia Pedroso. Eastern Florida starter Avery Velazquez was efficient in the circle, working five shutout innings with six strikeouts and no walks.
In the circle for the Sharks, Jaylene Mieres took the loss, allowing five runs over 2.1 innings, while Ava Salvino provided relief across the final 1.2 innings.
After Miami Dade's offensive surge in Game 1, Eastern Florida answered with a complete performance in Game 2, evening the doubleheader behind strong pitching and consistent production at the plate.
