The Miami Dade College men's soccer team got back on track in a big way, earning a 4–0 victory over Millenia Atlantic University on Saturday. The Shark controlled the match from start to finish, using a balanced attack and stout defending to snap their recent skid.
The breakthrough came just before halftime when Nicolo Liburdi buried his second goal of the season in the 45th minute, sending Miami Dade into the break with a 1–0 lead. Right out of the gate in the second half, Daniele Malanga doubled the advantage with a composed finish in the 46th minute. From there, the Sharks' offense kept rolling with Cheick Dounkasse adding his fourth goal of the year in the 68th minute off an assist from Facundo Ochoa, and Javier Prieto capped the scoring in the 77th minute, also set up by Ochoa, to seal the 4–0 result.
Miami Dade dominated statistically, outshooting Millenia Atlantic 16–8 and holding a commanding 10–0 edge in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Samuel Cavo was solid between the posts, turning away all four shots on goal he faced to secure the clean sheet. On the other end, Millenia's keeper Luis Hipten was under pressure all afternoon, making four saves against the Sharks' eight shots on target.
