Sharks lose 3-0 to Eastern Florida in District Championship

The Miami Dade College Sharks fell short in the District Championship, losing 3-0 to Eastern Florida State College. 

The first half saw Miami Dade start with some promising attacks, including early shots by Benicio Aronow and Eduardo Cornejo, but they missed their mark. Eastern Florida capitalized in the 14th minute when Isaak Torossian netted the first goal, assisted by Liam Kuemmitz. As the half continued, Miami Dade's goalie Angel Fernandez made multiple crucial saves to keep the Sharks in the game, but Eastern struck again in the 30th minute, as Mukisa Emmanuel scored, assisted by Rhys Shirley, making it 2-0.

In the second half, Miami Dade pushed hard to close the gap, with efforts from Eduardo Cornejo and Facundo Ochoa, but Eastern's defense held strong. Angel Fernandez continued his impressive performance, denying several shots to prevent further damage. However, Eastern Florida sealed their victory in the 84th minute with a final goal from Luc Achermann-Stanfield, again assisted by Kuemmitz, bringing the score to 3-0.

Despite the loss, the Sharks await word on a potential at-large bid to the NJCAA National Tournament, hoping their strong season performance can secure them a spot.
