Sharks Explode Early, Cruise Past Barry 14-1
Miami, FL - Miami Dade wasted no time setting the tone and never looked back, rolling past Barry University in a dominant 14-1 win. The Sharks jumped on the board immediately with a four-run first inning and kept the pressure on all night, piling up 13 hits and taking advantage of 13 walks to completely control the game from start to finish.
The offense came in waves. In the opening frame, timely hitting sparked the early surge, highlighted by run-scoring knocks from Jendy Gonzalez, William Polanco, and Leamsi Montanez. That momentum carried straight into the third, where Miami Dade broke things open with another four-run inning. Nelson Hiraldo delivered in a big way throughout the night, driving in four runs and consistently coming through in key moments, while Adrian Areizaga added three RBIs of his own, including a triple as part of his three-hit performance. The pair of Puerto Ricans combined for five hits and seven runs driven in.
Polanco and Montanez each crossed the plate twice, and the lineup stayed aggressive, drawing walks and forcing Barry's pitching staff into constant trouble. By the middle innings, the Sharks had built a commanding lead and never gave Barry a chance to get back into it.
On the mound, Miami Dade's staff handled business. Jose Villegas picked up the win with two scoreless innings, and Dylan He and Jesus Moreno combined to limit Barry to just one run on five hits while striking out eight. The defense backed them up cleanly, playing error-free baseball and turning a double play to keep momentum firmly on the Sharks' side.
