Carlos Jacome lands at USF

Sharks standout freshman Carlos Jacome has signed with the University of South Florida, an NCAA Division 1 program in Tampa, Florida. The shortstop enjoyed a spectacular year up the middle for the Sharks that saw him slashing .309/ .369/ .497 in 181 at bats. 

Jacome was a steady contributor to Head Coach Lazazo Llanes' lineup throughout season, finishing second on the team in batting average and slugging percentage. During the 23-24 season, the Venezuelan also ranked second in runs batted in.

Carlos joins a talented Bulls group that includes several former junior college athletes. He will be part of Mitch Hannah's first recruiting class at USF, as he was recently hired the program's eighth head coach on June 8, 2024.
